Brand identity for Augsburg’s Advisory Committee on Culture

Augsburg’s cultural advisory board was looking for a new visual identity, mainly to reach a new audience through social media presence. While their work mainly focuses on advising local politics, this new platform’s goal is to reach creatives in the city and showcase events in Augsburg’s cultural landscape.

The central struggle my teammate and I faced was finding something that would encompass every type of culture present in the city whilst still being focused in our design choices. The logo we decided on does exactly this. To us, clapping is something universal to every cultural event and simultaneously shows the board’s appreciation for local artists. The branding’s abstract key visual elements represent the different emotions felt when consuming art and therefore remain universally understandable.

This competition entry explores the universality of experiencing cultural events, giving the cultural advisory board a fresh look fitting for digital applications.
