Knocking on heaven’s door - about a friendship
This illustrated booklet is about friendship. A friendship that is so impacting, it’s love still guides you through all seasons, even long after your friend’s passing.
Inspired by the lyrics of Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on heaven’s door” I’ve illustrated the story of a girl and her cat throughout the years. Dealing with something that many people know and struggle with: The loss of their childhood pet and with that also the loss of a deep friendship. One that cannot be replaced.
For my illustrations, I’ve decided to draw digitally with a watercolor effect, staying in blue/turquoise tones to part with the melancolic topic. Being a songbook, it was also important to place the typography in a prominent way.
